Photorealistic Parts

Do you have a demanding project that must be perfect? We discuss your project and your goals and deliver magnificent parts that look like they came from a production facility.

Prototypes demand many hours of handwork. We employ and train only the best model makers to deliver parts with beauty and attention to detail second to none.

Fast Delivery

Urgency in production and prototyping is our daily business. We deliver your parts fast and in the expected quality to the United States, Europe, Australia, and all other parts of the planet.

Production Finishes

We aim to give you production quality finishes using sandblasting, polishing, painting, printing, powder coating and more. If you design to industry standards, we can do it.

Rapid Prototyping

Star Prototype specializes in the production of premium quality, low cost rapid prototypes. With a range of technologies at our disposal, we can produce any type of prototype needed. Our rapid prototyping services include strict scheduling for on-time delivery and professional customer support in multiple languages.

CNC Machined Prototypes

CNC machined prototypes are available in a huge range of plastics, metals, and modeling boards. Many customers turn to CNC machined prototypes in order to have their prototype produced out of the real material rather than a simulant. Star Prototype can help you decide if a CNC machined prototype is right for your project.

Polyurethane Castings

Polyurethane vacuum casting allows for an extended prototyping service through a multi-step process. It involves first making a prototype via SLA or SLS, then creating a silicone mold around the prototype to easily manufacture multiple identical polyurethane prototypes. Star Prototype may also make master patterns for vacuum casting by CNC machining.  This process is often preferable if the master pattern is bulky or thick.  CNC machining is also the chosen process if the vacuum castings must have an excellent gloss finish or are to be clear. For these castings, STAR will CNC the master pattern out of PMMA and hand polish to achieve the gloss.

SLA & SLS Rapid Prototypes

SLA & SLS prototypes are ideal for rapid, one-off prototypes. SLA prototyping is a process whereby a laser transforms a liquid photopolymer into a solid plastic prototype, layer by layer. SLS prototyping is a similar manufacturing process to SLA, but SLS uses a much higher powered laser to bond plastic powder together to form a 3D prototype.  Star Prototype specializes in delivering accurate SLA & SLS rapid prototypes.

More information * Please try to include the following information here:

  • 3D Drawing (preferably in STEP or IGS format) ?
  • Quantity ?
  • Material ?
  • Colour ?
  • Surface Finish ?

The 3D drawing is required for two reasons: (1) To review the part geometry, and extract the part volume and surface area for quotation purposes; and (2) To review the design for potential manufacturing problems. Furthermore the 3D file will later be fed into our machines to drive the manufacturing process. You can read up more on computer aided designs here

We can help you to find the most economic process for your parts if we know the required or expected quantity.

Plastic or Metal? Steel or Aluminium? Please try to be as specific as possible. You can always ask for advice if you are not 100% sure what plastic or metal grade you need.

Do you require coloring or painting for your part? Please try to provide us with a Pantone or RAL color standards code.

Do you need your parts to be polished? Painted? Textured? Sandblasted? Anodised? There is a very broad choice of finishing services that we can offer. If you do not need any surface finish we will usually provide you with a "machined finish" - meaning that we do very little secondary processing. It will have the original machine cutter marks – some people love machined finishes.
